Had a wonderful time here, the courtyard is beautiful! The staff was incredibly friendly and gave my children free food for the fish. Decided to make a purchase from the gift shop after the kind treatment. My kids really enjoyed the time we spent and the underground viewing area of the fish.

Interesting fish farm and the history of the places around the us where they stocked with fish raised. If the Fish and Game would study their history out west maybe they won stop poisoning streams to get rid of non navive fish. The hatchery stocked streams west of the divide during the industrial revolution when streams had no protection from dumping waist in river's. Great place to go when your in Spearfish, SD to relax, see history, enjoy the park.

What an amazing place! The young and old will enjoy the simplicity of it all. We will definitely be going back.

Half-planning on stopping here, we're glad we did. An amazing property and so many ponds of fish! Several species of trout from the area are here and can be fed ($1 or $2 bags of food). The docents in the several museums and outdoor exhibits are friendly and knowledgeable and led great tours for us. Well worth the stop!

This is a very family friendly place to visit. You can feed the fish and look at the many different houses that were on this property from a long time ago. The history you read about it interesting, as well. There is some hills to walk up but many stopping points along the way. The park across the river is a great place for kids to burn some energy and stretch their legs. Over all a truly fun place to get out and enjoy the beauty of this area.
