Cons: The sites are small and not pull through, which did not matter to us as our camper is only 18ft and I don't have a problem backing it. The WiFi did not work so do not count on it.

Nice and Quiet. The Hatchery was a short walk, and feeding the trout was an experience. There is a nice creek that runs through it, you can tent right beside it.

This is just about the nicest campground we've stayed at...even more remarkable given that it is a City operated one. The setting is idyllic, lush and green with trees everywhere. Streams run on either side. The setting is immaculately maintained and shower/restroom facilities show that. There is a mix of RV and tenting sites with some that seem to easily support small groups. Most RV sites that i could see were full hookup, we had water/50amp/sewer/cable TV. I almost hesitated to post since i'd love to keep this gem as hidden as possible! Location is superb, with sites of interests surrounding (Mt Rushmore, Deadwood, Spearfish Canyon and more) and the small but really nice downtown. There are few "chain" restaurants and coffee shops here but the local ones we've sampled will "wow" you! We will definitely be back!

Fun place to have a bonfire, a few beers, and a good time. They have utility hookups, showers and public restrooms, and a nice little Creek that runs through it. A great spot to camp and is close to down town Spearfish.

Pros: The location is very nice, and the bathrooms are well kept. Very nice creek running through the campground and it is well off the main road so no traffic noise. The price was also very reasonable compared to other local campgrounds. The sites are very level. It is also near a free family attraction, a historic fish hatchery, and a very nice public park with a great kids play area.

This campground is amazing! Campsites are available with picnic tables and a firepit, and if you're lucky you can get a campsite by the creek that runs through the campground. Prices are very reasonable, and the front office has a good deal on firewood that is good quality. The showers and bathroom were immaculate and spacious, and there's even a large sink you can use to wash dishes in. Lastly, the grounds are in walking distance to downtown Spearfish that has a plenty of dining options. My only regret is that I was only able to stay for one night. I can't wait to stay here again!
